The Journées Internationales Francophones de Tribologie (JIFT) are held every spring under the aegis of the Groupe Scientifique et Technique de Tribologie (GST 12) of the Association Française de Mécanique (AFM).

This event, a key gathering for the French-speaking scientific and industrial community specialising in tribology, provides an opportunity for sharing and exchange. The exhibitions and presentations scheduled during the conference provide an opportunity to take stock of work in progress, as well as advances in the fields of surface contact, friction, wear and lubrication. Physico-chemical studies on the characterisation, functionalisation and instrumentation of surfaces and coatings are also presented.

This year's focus will be on tribology in transport, linked to the research activities of the Institut Pprime.
